Jay is a well-known lecturer on mechanisms of chronic pain, myofascial pain, acupuncture techniques and other related topics. He and his co-investigators have utilized novel microanalytical and ultrasound imaging techniques that have uncovered the unique biochemical milieu and viscoelastic properties of myofascial trigger points and surrounding soft tissue. Their studies have demonstrated objective, reproducible and quantifiable muscle tissue properties associated with MTrPs and the quantitative effects of dry needling of active MTrPs on these tissue properties, in addition to showing significant improvements in pain, range of motion and patient self-report outcomes in mental health and physical function.

He has given many invited lectures and hands-on courses nationally and internationally for physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, dentists, acupuncturists, and massage therapists among other professional groups. His presentations integrate the fascinating and impactful knowledge emerging from the basic and clinical pain sciences, thereby helping clinicians to optimize their evaluation and management approaches to musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

Jay was selected by the American Academy of Pain Management as the 2010 recipient of the Janet Travell Clinical Pain Management Award for excellence in clinical care and by the National Association of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists as the 2012 recipient of the David G. Simons Award for excellence in clinical research.

Beginning her professional journey in Australia over thirty years ago as a physiotherapist and coach, Joanne Elphinston is a movement philosopher, performance consultant and international lecturer in rehabilitation. She was Head of Performance Movement for the British Olympic Association’s Coaching Olympic Gold programme, and from her wide ranging work in elite sport and the performing arts, to her continued clinical interest in chronic and complex presentations, Joanne’s path of inquiry lies in what connects us in the deeply human experience of movement.

Joanne is the creator of the JEMS approach, a holistic but meticulously clinically reasoned method for integrating the science and the art of clinical practice. Through two decades of prolific teaching across multiple countries, Joanne’s work is now used by clinical practitioners in a wide array of settings, and has underpinned an array of research projects in Sweden.

Joanne’s books, including “Stability, Sport and Performance Movement”, have been translated into a number of languages. Her most recent book, “The Power and the Grace: A Professional’s Guide to Ease and Efficiency in Functional Movement” is now available.

I ran a successful clinic for 30 years in Adelaide as part of an allied health team, offering myotherapy, remedial massage, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, shiatsu and breathwork. My focus included treating fascial connections from the dura, through internal organs and musculoskeletal structures. I have an interest in how nutrition, emotions and the breath affect these systems. Further, I have a special interest in how meditation and mindfulness can support us to live a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life, both as a healthcare professional and in our personal lives.

I spent nine years on the board of Massage & Myotherapy Australia, including three years as National President. I currently sit on the Independent Standards Council overseeing the National Certification Program.

I’ve lectured in both remedial massage and Myotherapy for 15 years and now manage the Adelaide campus of Endeavour College of Natural Health. I’ve retired from clinical practice, and now assist in facilitating breathwork and personal development courses and provide meditation guidance and webinars at my workplace.

Wayne has a special interest in the effective utilisation of functional strength training within allied health clinics and exercise businesses. When designing and delivering professional development courses he has a strong focus on providing evidence-based, highly systematic approaches to assessment and client management - with a significant component of all his courses dedicated to the acquisition and mastery of practical skills.

Courtney graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). While working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice, Courtney developed a special interest in women's health and has completed extensive post graduate training.

Courtney works full time at a specialist women’s health physiotherapy practice, All Women’s Health, in Brisbane where she enjoys treating a variety of concerns including incontinence, prolapse and pelvic pain. She particularly loves helping women stay active during pregnancy and return to exercise postpartum through her other passion - Pilates.

Courtney also has a background in dance and takes pre-pointe assessments to prepare dancers for pointe work. She currently works with full time dancers at Queensland College of Dance providing injury screening and management and regularly contributes to Dancetrain magazine to educate dancers about pelvic floor dysfunction and other health issues.

When she is not at work, Courtney enjoys camping with her partner, spending time with her family on the Tweed coast and cuddles with her cats Poppy and Sully.

Bodine is a senior educator and manager for Advanced Clinical Education and is responsible for much of the course development and delivery around Australia.

He is a Soft Tissue Therapist and has spent over 12 years as a private practice clinician. He has extensive experience working with local, state, and national level athletes.

Bodine currently divides his time between working in clinical practice and providing post graduate professional development courses in manual therapy for Allied health professionals nationally and internationally. He has presented a numerous national conference across Australia. He has also developed course curriculum and been the Course coordinator for the Diploma of Remedial massage program in Perth.

Bodine has a special interest in chronic pain disorders particularly in the lumbar spine, hip and shoulder. Bodine combines his strength and conditioning background with an evidence informed approach to physical assessment, manual therapy treatment and exercise intervention.
