Pregnancy and Pain Masterclass

Presented by Courtney Nance

Extend your understanding from the national conference 2023 and delve into this practical workshop from mrs Courtney Nance.

Pain and pelvic floor symptoms are common complaints in pregnancy. We often hold back when assessing and treating pregnant women due to fear and uncertainty, potentially to the detriment of our clients. This course is designed for Myotherapists and other allied health professionals working with or wanting to work with pregnant women.

You will walk away with the knowledge and practical skills required to provide the highest quality of care to your pregnant clients.

Course outcomes:

  • understand the stages of pregnancy and physiological changes that occur at each stage
  • understand basic pelvic floor anatomy and function
  • confidently screen for pelvic floor symptoms in pregnancy and know when to refer on
  • perform non-invasive testing of the pelvic floor and core
  • assess and treat common pregnancy pain presentations with a particular focus on pelvic girdle pain
  • understand the link between pelvic floor symptoms and common musculoskeletal presentations
  • develop awareness of red flags, precautions and contraindications when treating pregnant women

Although there is a benefit to having heard Courtney at the 2023 conference prior to taking this course, it is not mandatory to have attended.
