MA wrote to the Victorian Minister for Health and Victorian Chief Allied Health Officer and their associated teams urging them that should the lockdown extend beyond February 16, to consider previous successful restrictions by their government and other governments around Australia. In particular, the sensible directions during Stage 3 restrictions, that were both successful and fair.

Our message is simple.

That the Victorian government directions treat all qualified healthcare professions, including myotherapy, equally, to limit unintended consequences that often follow from government policy that privileges some professions over other, similar professions, within the same sector.

Patients with chronic healthcare conditions at risk of deterioration without care should not be forced, at these difficult times, to find a new healthcare provider simply due to government policy that preferences some healthcare professions over similar healthcare professions with the same rigorous infection control and safe hygiene training.
