Dear MA members,

These are trying times.

I want to assure you all that the MA Board, CEO and staff are working at all hours to bring you the facts, in a form relevant to our members, as soon as we can.

It can be difficult to separate fact from fiction, given rumours circulating, particularly on social media.

And the ever-changing nature of government’s response to the evolving Coronavirus situation means that what was the case yesterday may no longer be correct today.

That is why, as a Board, we are working especially hard to cut through to the facts and only deliver you fact-based information, as soon as we have it to hand. Sometimes, that takes time.

Often, there are no black and white answers and you need to make a judgement call, based on your personal circumstances. We tell you where this is the case.

Right now, many of you are asking whether government classifies myotherapy as an allied health service and we are putting that question to government, both together with other allied health service providers and separately as MA. We will update you as soon as we know.

In the meantime, I ask you to please be patient and respectful with our staff. We are receiving unprecedented numbers of phone calls and emails and we have limited numbers of phone lines and small staff are responding to phone calls and emails as soon as they can.

As a sole practitioner, I am feeling many of the same emotions that many of you are.

I want to reassure you again that we are here for you in these difficult times and doing everything we can to bring you factual information as soon as possible.

Stay safe, kindest regards

Nicholas Steward
