WHY ARE Professional Development Points (PDP's) IMPORTANT?
PDP is a very important process needed to develop yourself, the profession and for maintaining a high level of competencies. It is a pre-requisite that PDP's be gained and ongoing to ensure recognition from Health Funds, Workcover, Government and to maintain IRMA membership.
This process will also enable us to gain credibility with other sought after institutions that do not recognise Myotherapy as yet, such as: TAC and Veteran Affairs.
All courses/seminars/workshops must have been granted accreditation before they will be credited.
If you wish to apply for an exemption or waiver of PDP points, this must be done in writing with documentation attached.
All IRMA organised courses are automatically loaded onto the database - no need to mail in verification.
The Professional Development Points Cycle
PDP’s are accumulated over a two (2) year period from 1st July – 30th June. The current PDP cycle ends on 30th June, 2013. Therefore the new PDP cycle begins on 1st July - 30th June 2013.
All IRMA Myotherapists are required to accrue a total of thirty (30) points per two (2) year cycle.
Excess points will NOT roll over into the next two (2) year cycle.
